Who does Ah Nan think he is, behaving like a gangster at Jack Neo press con?

Who was Ah Nan to behave like a thug at the press conference called by Jack Neo, asks STOMPer Greencell, who was annoyed by the host-cum-actor’s scuffle with the press yesterday (March 12).

The commotion occurred during the press conference where Jack Neo and his wife, Madam Irene Kng, were addressing news of a scandal between Neo and 22-year-old model, Wendy Chong.

The event turned dramatic when Madam Kng broke down inconsolably and collapsed while trying to leave the room.

That was when J-team actor and renowned getai host, John Cheng, better known as Ah Nan, rushed out, yelling for reporters to “go away”.

The actor, famous for playing a loanshark on Jack Neo’s 1998 movie, Money No Enough, pointed and waved at reporters and cameramen as they continued to take pictures of the chaotic situation.

Shocked by the dramatic turn of events, STOMPer Greencell says:

“Bloody hell, does he think he’s acting on TV?

“They already have a liar and womanizer. Now they have a gangster.”

In an interview with The New Paper today (March 12), Ah Nan defended his actions, saying he was trying the help Jack Neo and Madam Kng and was angered when reporters refused to make way for the couple to leave.

He also added that he respects Jack Neo like his father and Madam Kng like a mother.

Since Madam Kng has forgiven her husband, it is only right that he, as their “child”, he should also forgive Jack, he said.

One of Singapore’s most popular getai hosts, Ah Nan was once arrested for testing positive for ecstasy, but Jack Neo continued to use him in his movies.

Ah Nan has played various roles in Jack Neo’s productions before, including Money No Enough, Liang Popo: The Movie, That One Not Enough, I Not Stupid, Homerun, and I Do I Do, among others.

Drunk Aussie wanted to open exit on SIA plane in midair

WEARING a T-shirt emblazoned with the word “Hustler”, a passenger on board a Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight strode down the cabin aisle, intent on creating a mid-air scene.

Hiking up his shirt, he shook about wildly and disturbed his fellow passengers, even asking one of them for some wine. His antics, which went as far as threatening to open the emergency hatch, eventually forced air crew to restrain the 26-year-old.

At one point, a flight steward was forced to punch the passenger as others grabbed hold of him.

The episode on board flight SQ377 – from Barcelona to Singapore – on Feb 17 was captured on camera; an edited version of the video has started making its rounds online recently on a Spanish video channel.

The passenger has been identified as Australian national William Dull. He was arrested when the plane touched down the next morning.

Last week, he was sentenced to two weeks’ jail for his unruly behaviour on board the flight. It is believed he had been drinking alcohol on the plane prior to the incident.

When contacted, an SIA spokesman said Dull had been “loud and aggressive” on the plane, disturbing other passengers.

She said: “He was issued warnings by our cabin crew but persisted in his behaviour.”

The last straw came when Dull threatened to open one of the emergency exit doors an hour before its expected arrival at Changi Airport.

“Our crew immediately tried to restrain him, with assistance from other passengers,” she added.

Just two months ago, an Estonian was fined $15,000 after he wreaked havoc on a flight from Frankfurt to Singapore in December last year.

After drinking alcohol, he tried to kiss a passenger seated next to him. He was eventually restrained when he tried to kick, punch and even bite others on board. The captain was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Dubai after he was informed of the situation.

The 41-year-old served nine weeks’ jail as he could not pay the fines.

Flight crew are trained to recognise and deal with cases of passengers who become unruly, said the SIA spokesman in response to queries.

For example, the crew will “politely” decline further requests from passengers who have had a number of alcoholic drinks.

Members of the crew are also trained in self-defence tactics to handle passengers who turn violent. Passengers who show signs of “errant behaviour” before boarding the flight can also be refused boarding.

“The safety and security of our customers are our top priorities,” she said.

SIA did not provide figures for the number of unruly passengers it has encountered on board its flights.

Are female toilet users more honest?

are female toilet users more honest thumbnail Are female toilet users more honest?

STOMPer andytay spotted this at Boon Lay interchange where an attendant was made to sit outside the gents whereas there was only a coin box outside the female toilet. He felt that it is discriminating against males.

Said the STOMPer:

"On the right is the male toilet where an attendant is seated to collect 20 cents.

"The female toilet on the left has a coin box.

"Does it mean that female toilet users are more honest than male users?"

Two STOMPers spotted this bridge at Marina Square that had been damaged by a lorry’s crane last night (March 11). Apparently, the lorry’s crane had not been fully lowered.

STOMPer Edd Kung said in an email:

"A lorry with a crane from the Downtown Line C905 site hit a pedestrian bridge that connected Marina Square to Suntec City at around 11.30pm."

According to another STOMPer Lionel Puah, "The lorry driver did not lower his crane fully and it hit the ceiling of the road outside the Marine Square car park entrance."

Even uncles and aunties indulge in PDA on crowded MRT train

Friday, March 12th, 2010

even uncles and aunties indulge in pda on train thumbnail Even uncles and aunties indulge in PDA on crowded MRT train

Don’t just blame young couples. Even middle-aged couples indulge in a ‘public display of affection’ (PDA) on MRT trains, says STOMPer Nadya, who observed this couple kissing and touching each other inappropriately in public.

The STOMPer describes their explicit behaviour:

"The couple was leaning towards each other and the lady kissed the man’s neck.

"It was very unsightly to the other passengers who boarded the train.

"It was very distracting when the lady started to look at her own cleavage several times.

"She was trying very hard to catch the man’s attention.

"The lady kept looking at her cleavage and asked the man to look at it.

"The lady then smiled and pulled the man’s hand and tried to make him grab her breasts!

"They were speaking in Mandarin all the way so I couldn’t understand a single thing. The man’s face was red throughout the journey.

"But their body language really turned everyone off.

"All this can be done at home, not on the train."
