NUS students so hopeless that they need website to confess their love?

nus students so hopeless that they need website to confess thumbnail NUS students so hopeless that they need website to confess their love?

Some NUS students have created a website to confess their feelings to their crushes online instead of approaching them directly.

STOMPer LCM wonders why students of this generation are being so conservative, especially when the dating scene is more liberal and open nowadays.

The STOMPer says:

"I chanced upon this very interesting site created by some NUS students.

"This site allows students to input some personal details with the mobile number of their crush.

"The system will generate a match if the admirer also puts in his or her number.

"I wonder if Generation Y people are really this conservative to be requiring such sites to express their love.

"Is this a platform to solve the problem of low marriage rate?"

ITE students take turns inhaling helium just for ‘kicks’

STOMPer Henry was appalled when he came across these photos online of ITE Simei students taking turns inhaling helium from gas cylinders within the school compound.

In an email to STOMP today (Mar 9), the STOMPer says:

“I stumbled across these photos online and I am not pleased with what I saw.

“The photos were uploaded by a student from ITE Simei and it shows a group of male students having great fun and taking turns to inhale helium from two gas cylinders right within the school compound of ITE Simei.

“I am filled with great disgust at the way the young abusers were enjoying their ‘kicks’. I am even angrier with the institution for leaving the two cylinders of helium totally unguarded in the school compound and within the reach of these young abusers.

“The public who watched the videos will be shockingly surprised that helium abuse is happening right within our schools of Singapore. Isn’t this country supposed to be a very disciplined place and haven for learning.

“What is happening to our kids today?

“Are these the future generation which Singapore has to rely on for nation-building?

“It seems some kids today love to get ‘kicks’ and addiction from all kinds of smell.”

Students in uniform get ‘married’ in school

STOMPer Ohemgee is amused by these pictures of Singaporean students exchanging rings and apparently getting ‘married’ while being egged on by their friends. The STOMPer asked: "Shouldn’t they be focusing on their studies at this age?"

In the STOMPer’s message:

"In this video we see a bunch of students in their uniforms fooling around in what looks like their school compound, and recording the entire proceedings which they apparently intend to post online.

"The guy got on his knees to ‘propose’ with a bouquet of flowers.

"The guy also evidently prepared ‘couple rings’ to be exchanged.

"After lots of giggling and encouragement from their friends, the couple kissed after exchanging rings.

"This may be harmless fun, but shouldn’t these students be focusing on their studies at this age, instead of pretending to be adults?"

Foul-mouthed undergrads bicker about foreign students getting more benefits

foulmouthed undergrads complain about foreign students in nus thumbnail Foul mouthed undergrads bicker about foreign students getting more benefits

STOMPer Cyber policeman is stunned by netizens, who are apparently undergraduates, hurling expletives and vulgarities at each other in an online argument about foreign students receiving more benefits here.

The STOMPer is concerned how these foul-mouthed netizens may represent Singapore’s brightest students.

"Someone sent me a link to the website given and when I visited the website I was extremely shocked to read the debates and arguments between some  of our brightest students in the local universities.

"Some of them claimed to have four As and two S papers.

"They were arguing about the privileges and opportunities of local and foreign students in NUS and NTU.  The local students resented the overabundance of foreign students and the extra privileges given to them.

"But what irks me is the type of language and insults they hurled at one another.

"They called each other "morons" and "fuck".

"If this is a cross section of our future graduates then we have much cause to worry.  Why are our undergrads so foul-mouthed and uncouth?

"I am simply stunned."
