When you see not one, but several Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and other luxury cars at this wedding in a small coal-mining town in China, the truth sinks in painfully that the Chinese have overtaken the entire world – including, of course, that little red dot known as Singapore.
So, it is with despair – and generous doses of envy – that STOMPer Dionysius reacted when he received these photos of that wedding in a tiny coal-mining town in China. With China’s dominance, Singapore will have to be subservient to the not-rising but fully awaken dragon that is the People’s Republic of China.
The wedding took place in Shanxi, which has traditionally been a very poor region of China until the discovery of vast coal deposits. The wedding involved one member of the coal boss’s family.

The fact that Singapore IRs depend on Chinese tourists, the STOMPer says, is a reflection of the kind of relationship that Singapore will have with China. Beijing will be calling the shots.
"We will be foolhardy to offend the Chinese," says Dionysius. "We will have to kowtow to the new global emperors."
That’s why even the Chinese who are working and living in Singapore are behaving with the brashness, arrogance and confidence that comes with their new-found power, just as the British colonial masters had behaved when Singapore was their fiefdom.
Not only do small nations like Singapore have to adjust their relationships with China, even the big ones like US and Europe would have to do the same too.
In the meantime, just take a look at this obscenely ostentatious wedding – from the vehicular convoy of multi-million dollar cars that created a traffic jam, to the diamond rings, expensive gown, the palatial mansion and more.

It just takes your breath away.
"China has certainly arrived, which makes me very, very, very worried," says Dionysius.
